Leadership And The Leader – Part 5

Are we willing to go the whole 9 yards in leadership – being the servant, letting go of what we were, opening ourselves to the word of God and to the Holy Spirit so that it will mold us and transform us to become the people, the leaders, that God wants us to be?

In Romans 9:19-21 Paul is in the middle of an imaginary argument about why God makes us as we are. Paul says: 19You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For(A) who can resist his will?” 20But who are you, O man,(B) to answer back to God?(C) Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” 21(D) Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump(E) one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?

Are you willing to submit yourself to this standard – to be willing to be molded as GOD PLEASES – for WHATEVER PURPOSE GOD WANTS? If not – then never seek to lead anything.

If so, then make sure that your heart is ready for this – is your clay moist – for hard clay cannot be molded.

Paul’s passion, which by the way was just as zealous now as when he was Saul – just a different focus – and his desire was to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness and the hope of eternal life.

Paul conceived of his life’s task not simply as planting seeds of faith but also as producing strong mature and faithful Christians.

Is this our desire? Is this why we minister in the areas we minister? Is this the bench mark by which we judge ourselves – to further peoples faith and knowledge, leading them to maturity, godliness, not just for the sake of godliness but so that they may be certain in their hope of eternity. For Paul, his purpose was accomplished only when people were well on their way to maturity in Christ.

And all this revolves around the truth of God’s promise. To have faith, to have knowledge, to grow in godliness and hope of eternity requires us to BELIEVE what God has said and to BELIEVE in the promises he has made.

God does not lie. And he sent his Son to keep his promise.

Do we believe that every promise and word in scripture will be fulfilled, will be completed, and will be done?

Do we believe God?
That’s the beginning. That is the start. Believe every word God has spoken and believe every promise God has made.
