I am a follower of Jesus who is also an Episcopal Priest – Passionate to put the teachings of Jesus Christ into effect in my life, family and ministry.

Why the title lukefourteenthirtythree? Well, this passage says: therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.

It is a call to authentic, Christ centered, Christ exalting, Christ glorifying life, theology and ministry. I am reformed in much of my theology and understanding of scripture, but not exclusively.

Lukefourteenthritythree will have a mixture of articles, sermons, bible studies as well as a daily blog.

  1. A very brave verse to choose! And a further challenging quotation comes to mind: ‘You only discover that God is all you need when God is all you have.’
May we all truly reach the point where all that we have belongs to the Lord.

  2. Thank you sir for the wonderful review you posted today of my book, Whole Life Transformation: Becoming The Change Your Church Needs IVP, Keith Meyer.
Your insight that seminaries, denominations, pastors to pastors, don’t teach pastors and leaders how to stop is going to be addressed in the next book I am writing and the ministry of retreats, training and coaching/consulting that I now have after 30 years of ministry – the last 20 from more of a restful place.

The next book has exercises and is tentatively titled, “Practicing Jesus’ Rhythms With Each Other: Trinitarian Dancing, IVP. It will have exercises based on Jesus’ own practices and rhythms that I observed specially in Luke…he goes to be in communion with the Father, is formed in that belovedness, goes out in mission with that love and others get swept up into his going to be with Father in community that keeps on expanding…the dance of the Trinity that is an ever widening and opening circle.

Thanks again for your insight – thought you would appreciate the idea of my next book.
